We want our customers to enjoy their fashion and silver jewellery purchases for as long as possible. Here are some simple tips that can help prevent tarnishing and preserve the shine and sparkle of your jewellery.

• Avoid exposure to liquids, especially chemicals and detergents

• If using fragrance or hairspray, spray first before putting on your gorgeous jewellery

• When possible, gently wipe items after wearing, using a dry, soft, untreated cotton cloth or cotton gloves

• Store in a dry place away from heat and direct sunlight

• Clean and polish as needed using a dry silver cleaning/polishing cloth, treated with a gentle anti-tarnish agent (such as Connoisseurs®)

• Inexpensive, untreated cotton gloves, available at many pharmacies, work great for removing sweat and fingerprints, especially on styles featuring crystal pendants

• For heavily tarnished chains, rub gently with a paste of baking soda. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not allow paste to come into contact with stone or crystals

• Avoid the use of liquid silver cleaners, which are often harsh and toxic and can damage the finish of your sterling silver pieces

• Always keep away from contact with chlorine bleach
